On Sunday 27th November Boyle CTC headed to Portumna to take on their "Green" team in the last of their Connacht Winter League Grade 6 matches.  Unfortunately due to injury, illness, holidays and unavailability only three players were available to travel, the task was always going to be difficult for our team of Paul Butler, Linda Shevlin and Monica O'Connor - fair play to ye for travelling!! 

Paul and Linda were  playing singles for Boyle, unfortunately Paul lost out to a strong Portumna player.  Linda's match was a close affair with Linda taking the first set 6-3, however the experienced Portumna player evened the match taking the second set 6-3 and going on to win the match in a third set.  With only three players just one more match was to be played Monica and Linda put up a good fight but ultimately lost out in their ladies doubles match.  This Portumna team ended up topping the group so proved a little to strong for Boyle on this occasion, however great competitive experience was gained by all players in this grade and we will only be better for it in our next competitive outing!!
